Accessing services
With the support of Zone Nurses we visit and screen vulnerable community members for ear impairments. Patients are then treated at their residence or referred to Medical Officer. Those that require full audiometry testing are accompanied by Project HEAVEN team to our office at Twomey Hospital in Suva, where our staff conducts the test. If needed, an assistive device is provided or further referral to ENT is recommended and the Project HEAVEN once again accompany patients to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital for any further treatment.
Project HEAVEN support the patients in understanding the operation and care of their assistive device, and are there to respond to any questions. We then follow up with each patient after 2 weeks to ensure that devices are working accurately, and that any concerns or questions are addressed.

Home visits and follow up support
We're committed to providing home visits and follow-up support to ensure that every child and community members receives the help they need.
After the initial screening, our teams schedule follow-up visits to the school or home to monitor patient progress and provide ongoing support. This may include:
Follow-up screenings to track any changes or improvements
Ensure rreferrals to specialized services or specialists for further treatment are accessed, if not, why are they are not accessed
Educational resources and training for parents or caregivers on how to support their child's development
Ongoing communication with schools and healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated approach to care
